1. What does hosting mean? What is a domain? Do I need both if I want to have a website? |

Website hosting is the storing, serving, and maintenance of files for websites, through equipment permanently connected to the internet. For a website to be operative, you always need a hosting. Without hosting, nothing would be operative - your domain name (yourbusinessname.com), your website applications, your email accounts…
A domain name is the unique name that identifies an internet site. Example: yourbusinessname.com. You can get a website up and running without a domain name, but it is not advised. Domain names must be purchased from a registrar. Then the hosting service provider (which may be the same as the registrar) must give permission for the domain name to be installed in the server.
This is only a basic explanation, but you can find more information on the internet.

2. What is the minimum contract period when I purchase my website? |

The minimum contract period is 12 months (payment is annual). Prices on this website do not include VAT.

3. My business activity is not listed on your website. Can you help me with this? |

Yes. Just tell us what your business is, give us a few details, and if your type of business is not included here, we will create it for you.

4. Will you send me an invoice? Do I have to pay tax? |
| |
Of course, we will send you an invoice. If you live in the EU –even outside Spain- give us your company identification number, so that you can deduct the VAT.
Under Spanish law, tax is applied like this:
Spanish clients: add 16% VAT.
European clients: add 16% VAT, unless you are registered as intracomunitary operator, and your company identification number appears on the EU´s intracomunitary operator database. Click here to check. In that case, you do not have to pay VAT.
Rest of the world: no VAT or other taxes apply.

5. Can you provide the hosting services for a website or application made by a developer other than yourselves? |

No. We can only provide hosting services for our own web applications. But you can find many other companies providing good hosting services.
At FOLIOSERVER.com we are hosting providers, but we only provide hosting services for the websites we have developed. We do not sell hosting services without a website. This is how we make sure that our servers are always in perfect condition, working at full capacity, and this gives us time to assist our website clients.

6. Can I have more than 20 email accounts? |

Of course. You can have as many as you need. Check our plans and rates.

7. If there is a problem with my website, do I get technical support? |
| |
Absolutely. Send us your question or doubt and our support service will help you immediately –during working hours- or the next working day.
Anyway, you will hardly find any operative problems. Because the applications have been created by ourselves, they have been appropriately tested and we know they are reliable. Nevertheless, if a problem should arise, we are prepared to deal with it immediately.

8. I like one of your designs but the colours do not match my logo, what can I do? |

You can purchase our fully customization service at very competitive rates. We adapt the web design to the colours of your own logo to get consistent results.

9. I don´t need so many sections in my website, can I leave out some? |
| |
Yes. You can remove sections free of charge. Just indicate what sections you want to leave out. But remember, if you want to go back to the former sections after you have removed them, then you need to pay for this service.

10. I need my website to be translated into Russian and Chinese. Can I do this? Can I use Cyrillic or Chinese characters? |

Yes. All our websites use UTF-8 codification. This means you can use any language, including special characters such as Cyrillic, Chinese, Japanese....

11. I have purchased my domain from a registrar. Can my website be hosted by FOLIOSERVER.com? |

Yes. Just let us know about this during the purchase process, in the domain name section. You will be given our DNS so you can write them into your domain´s control panel. Then your website will be operative without problems.
If you are not sure you can do it, we can do it for you, provided you give us your access code.

12. Do you really install my website in only 24 hours? |
| |
Until now, we have always fulfilled this commitment. And we intend to continue to do so. Once you have purchased your website and payment has been received, your website will be operative in 24 hours.

13. Do you use quality servers? Is connectivity assured? |
| |
All our servers are DELL using INTEL Dual Core, minimum 2 Gb Ram. Our Datacenter are in different parts of Spain, Europe, USA and Australia.Therefore, you get the service from the datacenter which is closer to your location. We use the best cable networks: Savvis, Cable & Wireless and Verio. Our traffic is also routed through Espanix, the principal neutral Internet exchange in Spain.
The whole service is monitorized every ten minutes, so any small failure is detected immediately. All these features provide a high level of redundancy, allowing the server systems to continue working if one of the redundant parts should fail (eg. a hard disk). The part could be replaced without having to stop the system. See our SERVERS section for more details.

14. Can I create and manage my own email accounts? |

Yes. From your own control panel, you can create and eliminate email accounts, use autoresponders, manage your antispam settings (free of charge), automatically redirect your mail, etc.

15. Why can´t I upload any image bigger than 2 MB? |
| |
For safety reasons. Any file bigger than 2 MB will be rejected by the server. See our manuals and tutorials to find out how to reduce the size of your images maintaining the quality.

16. Can I add adult content to my website? |
| |
In principle, yes, as long as no law is broken, and provided your content respects human and animal rights, and provided they are not illegal. Even so, the installation of a website containing adult content must be approved by FOLIOSERVER beforehand.

17. If I purchase a virtual shop, do I have to get a payment gateway too? |
| |
It depends. If you want to accept credit cards online, then you need to have a payment gateway that connects to a bank. If you prefer the bank transfer option, then you do not need a payment gateway.

18. What does SSL secure server mean? |
| |
A secure server is a part of the server where all data is encrypted. Therefore, if someone intercepts your information, they will not be able to read it. To install your secure server, you need to get an SSL certificate from us. That is to say, a code to be installed in your hosting system.
All this can be done by FOLIOSERVER.

19. Do I need a secure server for my virtual shop? |

If you want to accept credit cards online, paypal payments, etc., then it is advised for safety reasons. It is not compulsory, but advisable.

20. The person in charge of managing my control panel can only speak German, can the control panel be set to that language? |
| |
All control panels are in Spanish by default but they are also available in many other languages. If you need a different language, for instance German, please let us know during the purchase process, or ask for it later on. See rates.

21. One of my employees is in charge of managing my website content. Should he leave my company, is there any way I can control access to my control panel? |
| |
Of course. Your website has two different access levels: MASTER and USER. The master can change the password and manage the whole website. The user can only manage the website. This way, your employees can access the website with the USER password, and you can keep the MASTER password for yourself in order to change the password if one of your employees should leave the company.

22. The photographs in your websites... are they legal? Can I encounter copyright problems? |

All the images have been purchased from Shutterstock, and we have the license to use them. All texts have been made to order. Therefore, you can be sure that the content can be used legally.

23. My logo does not really look good on the website. What can I do? |
| |
When doing the layout for a website, the company´s logo is one of the items that require more attention. This is why we will adapt your logo to the website for you. This service given by FOLIOSERVER is included in the price you pay for the installation of your website. Just send us your logo and we will integrate it into the website to get the best result.

24. I have replaced the home page picture by my own picture but now I want to go back to the original one. Can I do this? |

Ask us for the original picture and we will send it to you. Nevertheless, we advise you to take your own pictures, similar to those on the website. Add that personal touch by uploading your own images.

25. I like your websites and I would like to purchase one, but I already have my hosting services on a different internet server. Can one of your websites be installed on the server I am currently using? |

Not for now. Unfortunately, we cannot sell the hosting service without a website, or the other way round. We only install our own programs and developments in our servers. But you can keep your domain name with your current server and purchase a website plan from FOLIOSERVER.com . All you need to do is change your DNS (we will give you the DNS details).

26. What is your refund policy? Do I get my money back if I am not satisfied? |

If your website does not fully satisfy you, you are entitled to cancel your purchase and to ask for a full refund within seven days of the date you made the purchase.
The money will be transferred into your bank account within seven days of the date you asked for the refund. The only cost not to be refunded is the purchase of your domain name (as this still remains your own) in case you purchased it from us, and the registration fee (150 euro) to cover bank costs and the work done for the installation, logo layout and colour adjustment.
As we said before, your domain name will still be your own and you can take it to a different provider anytime. |
